The Issues

With all the issues surrounding the e marketing world, I think that you build a wholesome brand that you support and through the identification of your companies ethics and moral standing in the market place build the companies persona around it. Creating a strong moral foundation and then creating a marketing scheme that enhances those morals creates a situation that in the end does not shine negative light on your company.

Keep in mind how your customers want to be treated. Give them a way to shape how you market to them. Allow them to mold how they get information about you. I think that if you keep that in mind the issues surrounding marketing are no longer issues but whispers in the background.

If you have a great company all you have to do is let people know about it. This video of Steve Jobs is about the overall sense of how you should approach marketing.

Mobile Marketing

Mobile Marketing is a large piece of marketing 80% of consumers are concerned about this type of marketing based on ADVIDS.com. ADVIDS did a survey about mobile marketing and they identified 4 areas that mobile marketers should think about when advertising on mobile devices. The 4 areas are:

11)   Start with permission
a.     Consumers don’t want texts or information on products with out having signed up. Consumers said that they felt annoyed in this type of situation. In the end just simply ask!
22)    Understand the consumer
a.     Think about making it easy to opt out.
b.     Provide consumers with something they want, think about collecting information on their interests
33)   Know your audience
a.     The statistics around the audience you are targeting must be addressed. The ADVIDS video below explains the numbers.
44)   Be relevant:
a.     Consumers listen when you are relevant.

When building your brand online following these steps with the goal in mind of establishing lasting relationships with your customers. Start with permission, understand the customer, know your audience, and be relevant. These 4 steps will get you on the right path.

The video below gives some interesting ways to create integration with your customers. My favorite is utilizing the emoji text messages to get consumers to opt into getting free movies. The use has to guess what movie the emoji is trying to show.

Taking time out of your marketing campaigns and stepping back and assessing your performance is important. Utilizing lessons learned, identifying what worked well and what didn’t, and assessing overall effectiveness should be conducted at least every 6 months. This allows your company to identify any shortfalls or unperceived issues withy your current marketing strategy. Its important to note that your marketing plan should include processes that assess individual campaigns and then incorporate those lessons learned both positive and negative into audits.

First start with breaking your marketing campaign into its parts.

*Email Marketing*

*Social Media*

*Search Engine Optimization*

Second, audit your website.

Second, Ask yourself do my websites and social media sites need facelifts?

Thirdly, assess your implementation of your marketing calendar. Were your marketing campaigns effective?

Fourthly, implement website and social media fixes.

Finally, revamp marketing calendar and scheme to reflect changes in the market and lessons learned.

This video is a little old but the questions it asks are still relevant.
